Lecture Video Capture: Open Yale Courses
Open Yale Courses provides free and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale University. Funded by a generous grant by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the aim of the project is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn. The classes are shot in high definition available in a variety of formats for download. Presently there are 42 full courses available to anyone with a desire to expand their educational horizons.
No course credit, degree, or certificate is available through the Open Yale Courses website. However, courses for Yale College credit are offered online through Yale Summer Online including OYC professors John Rogers and Craig Wright.
Working closely with the client, the Open Yale Courses management team, the Yale Broadcast & Media Center taped all of the course lectures in high definition, edited each video and prepared the videos for mass public distribution.
