
The Yale broadcast studio produces an average of 300 live and taped feeds a year for TV and radio broadcast. Yale experts like Professor Robert Shiller of the Department of Economics work regularly with the Broadcast Group on live feeds to CNBC and other networks.
Fiber connectivity and ISDN capabilities integrate the Yale broadcast facility with media outlets worldwide, and our central campus location offers a convenient location for Yale faculty to fulfill media requests.

The Yale Broadcast Group provides video and broadcast production support for a variety of events. Each year the Yale Commencement is broadcast live and aired locally. The Yale Broadcast Group utilized a broadcast production truck and multi-camera live switching for the event. This clip shows the procession of flags which opens the Commencement ceremony.



The Yale Center for the Study of Globalization utilizes the Yale broadcast studio to conduct taped interviews which are then streamed for use on the Center's web site. Nayan Chanda, editor for YaleGlobal Online, hosts a wide range of guests including government officials, journalists, economists and others who offer insights into the effects of globalization on society. In this interview Tom Friedman discusses globalization and his most recent book.


The Yale Broadcast Group tapes an average of 25 lectures and classroom events a month. An example of this is a video of a 2004 special event featuring former Vice President Al Gore, speaking about the "climate emergency" of global warming.
The event was sponsored by the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and was part of the seminar "Politics and the Environment in the 2004 Election Cycle," open to the Yale community at large.
